A term normally used in Malaysia and Singapore to refer to ethnic Chinese youths with

a rather loud, and/or some would say, terrible sense of fashion. Dyed hair, listens to

techno. Pretty vulgar too.

Speaks in Chinese and Hokkien more often than English.

And when they do speak English, it may be hard to understand their mangled form of English.

However, there are those few Bengs who are actually pretty highly-educated. But their manner gives it away.

They probably would come from a lower income household.

Some would argue that these youths are trying to emulate American street fashion, but did not really succeed. Therefore we lable them as Posuers as mentioned in my earlier post.

The common Ah Beng would sport an outrageously bleached, or blond-

dyed hair; an odd bootcut trousers; a tight t-shirt; and some not really pretty tattoos.

Ah Bengs are normally thin, and some are habitual drug users (especially steroids). That explain why some of them manage to finish top 30 in their school cross country race. tsk totally abusing it.
